Need Your Advise from those BTDT Moms!

As you guys know, we will be bringing home our second daughter from China...who will be around 19 months...sometime in the next few months (looking like Oct/Nov we will travel). Anyway, we are looking into getting one of those double strollers, but which kind (there are so many out there and they are not cheap!)!?!?!?! And, we were also looking into a Sit & Stand but again we need some feedback. (we looked into some of those Sit & Stand ones, but the front seat area looks to have no room and the ones that do look a little wider, have no foot rest).

Maybe I should let you know that what I am looking for in a stroller - so here it goes..

I would want one...

that would fit both girls comfortably (Francesca is 3.5 40" tall and 35 lbs)...

that has a basket underneath for storage...

that can recline because Francesca does still take naps...

that has a foot rest for the both them (it is a pet-peeve of mine when I see their little feet just dangling off the stroller)...

and a stroller that moves easily.

Do you ave any suggestions?

I am currently looking on craigslist in our area and there are so many listed that when I think I got one picked out, I start to really "analyze" it and than I don't know. (I even heard from some moms not to even waste our money on a double stroller or a sit and stand, but we do travel a lot and we always seem to be on the go....so we need something.) I am at a loss here... And need your advise...suggestions...comments on what we should do!!!

I just did the umbrella strollers with these attachments that I bought for $13 from One Step Ahead. But this does not provide storage (I used a small backpack that I hung on the handles) and mine did not recline--some do though. I had a hand-me-down sit and stand and did not care for it because Liv couldn't sit too. I also had a hand-me-down tandem that was okay. I would stay away from Eddie Bauer because they are awful to push. I prefer a side by side stroller because it's easier albeit wider(hence why I ditched the tandem and went with the umbrella strollers.)
Check at any children's consignment shops in your area too. We have a really nice one by us that I have seen alot of strollers at decent prices. Or check mom-to-mom sales in your local paper. Or salvation army...this way if you hate it, you don't regret spending the $.
Hope this helps.

Hello,
Thanks for stopping by and checking in. I am curious about your friends with scleroderma. My sister has just been diagnosed. We are looking for support for her. Also, she has been reading too much on the internet. Everything we read is SOOOOO horrible. If you don't mind will you contact me on my personal email and we can talk about it more.

Thank you so much. And, I am jealous, my babies are 13 and 16. The next time I will get to use a double stroller is with my grandchildren.

I have heard the "Bob" stroller is the greatest thing since sliced bread (which is pretty hard to beat!) Here is link: expensive, yes - but it would last forever, I'll bet -

We started with a hand-me-down graco stadium seating stroller (one in front one in back). It had a nice large basket. It was good, but J likes to walk and she didn't like being strapped in all the time. Then we got the sit-n-stand and love it! We don't use strollers that often anymore, but do take the sit-n-stand when we are going someplace where J will be doing a lot of walking and might need a rest (like the zoo). The downside is the weight limit of the stander, and that if F falls asleep in the back it is not comfortable. There is a lap strap but they have no where to rest their head.

good luck! Will look forward to pics of what you choose!

Hi, I'm a lurker that looked at your blog off of biddlebloggers. I have 3 11 month old babies and what we use is a side by side instep. Great stroller, but side by sides have a tough time going through doorways. The doorway must be handicap accessible for it to fit. Oh, and for our third baby we have a baby trend exerstroller.

I am now looking at a Runabout for the 3 babies, but Ouch, they cost $795.00 for a triplet stroller. Anyway, the BOB is supposed to be great, but our instep has worked out fine for 1/3 the price.

HTH.
